Research in the area of vocational education and training is realised by the Work Pedagogy of Innovative Economy Centre which is composed of the Vocational Education Research Department and the Continuing Education Department.
The scope of activity of the Work Pedagogy of Innovative Economy Centre revolves around the topic of the integrated multilevel system of continuing vocational education and the scientific and research undertakings are aimed at the development of theoretical and methodological solutions to problems accompanying this system. The Centre also develops diagnostics and expert reports for the national governmental bodies including Ministries of National Education, Economy, Labour and Social Policy, as well as international institutions. The thematic areas covered by the scientific and R&D activity of the Centre focuses particularly on the following topics:
- vocational qualifications and standards;
- modular education and its theoretical basis, innovative programmes, teaching technologies, guidebooks and teaching materials for vocational educators;
- quality of teaching and recognition of qualifications.
The Centre cooperates and participates with the European network for research and education in which various prestigious educational associations are concentrated.
Additionally, two scientific journals are published by the Centre. These are “Edukacja Ustawiczna Dorosłych” (Continuing Education of Adults) and “Pedagogika Pracy” (Work Pedagogy) – more information on: www.pedagogikapracy.pl.
