ITeE – PIB has supported the activities of Foresight Europe Network a. o. through the co-ordination of the international consortium (FEN members included), which prepared and submitted a project proposal entitled: Facilitating the return of manufacturing to Europe through 3D printing technologies – platform-based business models & best practices for 2014 Horizon 2020 NMP-35 call: Business models with new supply chains for sustainable customer-driven small series production.
Similarly, 4CF has shared its expertise with ITeE – PIB in business models creation through delivering a workshop to 100+ participants of the 2014 Future Engineering conference organized by ITeE – PIB and Business Centre Club in September last year. The “Business models in R&D” workshop focused on the practical use of tools to facilitate long term co-operation among science and business and to trigger the implementation of innovations on the market.
ITeE – PIB contribution to the Millennium Project activities executed on the global and local scale will include on the one hand expert advice in such areas as: mechatronics, surface engineering, environmental technologies, enabling both the reduction of material and power consumption in manufacturing processes and the management of waste that would minimise the possibly environmentally harmful aspects of its disposal; biotechnologies, vocational education and training of specialists of advanced technologies. On the other hand, ITeE – PIB offers expert advice in the design and application of foresight methodology (qualitative and quantitative methods included) for nationally-, sector- and organizationally-based projects.
Some of the thematic areas, which would shape the future foresight projects of 4CF and ITeE – PIB, include a. o.: future of work; corporate foresight of manufacturing companies; identifying, monitoring and taking the advantage of emerging technologies to build R&D and innovation potentials of countries and regions.
