Leading Enabling Technologies for Societal Challenges 2014

sitemapThe representatives of ITeE – PIB took part in the Leading Enabling Technologies for Societal Challenges 2014 conference and LETs MATCH brokerage
event, which took place in Bologna (Italy) from September 29th to October 1st 2014 with the aim of discussing the role of the Key Enabling Technologies pinpointed by Horizon 2020, the European Union Framework Programme  for Research and Innovation, in bridging the gap between excellence in scientific and technological research, innovation in industry and access to the European and global markets.

LET’S 2014 focused on the perspective of Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and pointed out how knowledge could be turned into know-how through valuable research and industry collaborations, the examples of which were presented in each of the five main thematic tracks:

  • Building cross cutting sciences and technologies,
  • Future of industries,
  • Minds of the future,
  • New models of governance,
  • Driving disruptive innovation.

The thematic scope of the conference was in line with the strategic R&D priorities of the Institute as well with the orientation of the strategic programme Innovative Systems of Technical Support for Sustainable Development of Economy.

During LETS MATCH brokerage event Piotr Garbacz (Mechatronics Department) and Anna Sacio-Szymańska (Innovation Strategies Department) presented the capabilities of the Institute in terms of joint realization of R&D projects under H2020.
