On 2-6.12.2013 the Institute for Sustainable Technologies hosted six academics from Soloviev Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University. The purpose of the visit was the advanced tribological training using six cameras for tribological investigations aimed at selecting the most effective construction materials and lubricants. Additionally, the researchers from Russia had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest surface analysis techniques, available at the Tribology Department, and research capabilities of other ITeE-PIB’s scientific departments.

The visit was the first step in establishing scientific cooperation between the ITeE-PIB and the Soloviev Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University in the field of research of advanced structural materials, particularly for aviation. The workshop was financed through a special grant of the Russian Federation, whose aim is to improve the qualifications of the Russian university employees by means of international internships in leading R&D institutions.
