ispimThe XXIV ISPIM Conference “Innovating in Global Markets: Challenges for Sustainable Growth,” held in Helsinki, Finland on 16-19 June 2013, was organised by the International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) and hosted by Aalto University School of Business. This year’s edition of the conference brought together almost 500 experts representing Public Research Organisations, the SME sector, and large corporations and specialising in the field of national innovation performance, economic competitiveness and entrepreneurship. The main conference themes, in which ca. 300 articles were presented,  included the following:

  1. Innovation for Sustainable Growth,
  2. Foresight,
  3. Knowledge Transformation and Technology Transfer,
  4. Collaboration for Innovation, 
  5. Business Models of Innovation,
  6. Entrepreneurship,
  7. Innovation Financing,
  8. Methods, Tools & Measurement for Innovation,
  9. Green, Public and Social Innovation

The speakers presented their articles within main conference panels and during ARDS sessions concerning academic research in progress. Publications presented in ARDS sessions were discussed and feedback concerning further research directions was given.

The Institute for Sustainable Technologies – National Research Institute was represented by Prof. Adam MAZURKIEWICZ, Beata POTERALSKA, PhD, Joanna Łabędzka, PhD, and Urszula WNUK, MA. The representatives of the ITeE-PIB presented four articles, which were shown both in the panel sessions and the ARDS sessions. Prof. Adam MAZURKIEWICZ presented the article entitled “Innovative Systems of Technical Support for Sustainable Development of Economy” on the first day of the conference, 16.06.2013, in the panel session “Transferring Knowledge for Innovation.” The presentations by Dr Beata POTERALSKA (“Implementation and evaluation of foresight results”) and Dr Joanna Łabędzka (“Foresight-based hybrid model oriented to technology research organizations”) were shown on the second day of the conference in the “Foresight and Future Orientation” ARDS session, whereas the presentation by Urszula Wnuk (“Nurturing technological advantage: academia-industry technology transfer in innovation systems”) took place on the third day of the conference in the “Process, Performance and Industrial Systems” ARDS session.

The participation in the conference helped to maintain and establish contacts with the representatives of foreign research institutions and enterprises.
